Clearance adjustment of thrust tapered roller bearing cage

Whether bearings or other types of bearings, they are generally divided into two structures with cage and without cage. Among them, large thrust tapered roller bearings are generally required to bear a large load, often without cage, but filled with rolling elements between the inner and outer raceways. Most small and medium-sized rolling bearings have cages.
In the bearing processing process, how are the outer ring, inner ring, rolling element and cage of the bearing installed together. To put it simply, it is to put the inner and outer rings of the bearing first, put the inner ring aside, then put the rolling body on one side, then adjust the position of the rolling body, and finally put the cage. Now we all know that the cage is also involved in the processing of thrust tapered roller bearing. What role does the bearing cage play?
1. Adjusting gasket method:
Fill a group of soft material (soft steel sheet or elastic paper) gaskets between the bearing end cover and the end face of the bearing seat; During adjustment, first install the bearing end cover without placing shims, tighten the screws on the bearing end cover evenly, and rotate the shaft by hand until the bearing rolling element contacts the outer ring and there is no clearance inside the shaft; At this time, measure the clearance between the end cover of thrust tapered roller bearing and the end face of bearing seat, plus the axial clearance required by the bearing during normal operation; This is the total thickness of the gasket to be filled, then fill the prepared gasket between the bearing end cover and the end face of the bearing seat, and finally tighten the screw.
2. Adjusting bolt method:
Press the pressure ring on the outer ring of the bearing and pressurize it with the adjusting bolt; Before pressure adjustment, first measure the pitch of the adjusting bolt, then slowly tighten the adjusting bolt until there is no clearance inside the bearing, and then calculate the corresponding rotation angle of the adjusting bolt. For example, if the pitch is 1.5mm and the clearance required for the normal operation of the thrust tapered roller bearing, the rotation angle required for adjusting the bolt is 3600 × 0.15/l.5=360; At this time, turn the adjusting bolt 360, the micro bearing will obtain an axial clearance of 0.5mm, and then fix it with a stop gasket.
The bearing is called the window, which is used to isolate and guide the rolling element. The pocket clearance makes the cage have a certain amount of activity in the radial and axial directions. The total amount of radial activity is called the clearance of the cage. In roller cage, there are many structural types and complex shapes. There are many equally spaced pockets on the cage. The pocket shape includes spherical, circular, elliptical, rectangular and tooth shape. Its size is larger than the size of the rolling body. The difference between the two is the pocket gap. Sometimes the connecting part between the rolling cage windows is called lintel, which plays the role of connecting and increasing the strength of the cage.
