Proper bearing lubrication is important!

The premature failure of tapered roller bearing caused by improper lubrication accounts for more than one third of the failure reasons of tapered roller bearing. Sufficient grease can form an oil film between the contact surface of the rolling element and the raceway during the operation of the bearing, so as to reduce the friction temperature rise and wear of the contact surface. The selection of appropriate bearing grease is the basis to ensure the stable operation of the bearing and maintain the maximum reliability.
The correct selection of lubricant includes the determination of tapered roller bearing type and size, internal space, temperature, speed, load, expected service life and relubrication cycle.
The role of bearing lubrication can be briefly described as follows:
A: An oil film is formed on the surface of the rolling elements and raceways in contact with each other to separate the contact surface and reduce the friction, temperature rise and wear of the contact surface.
B: When lubricating with oil, especially when circulating oil lubrication, oil mist lubrication and oil injection lubrication are adopted, the lubricating oil can take away most of the friction heat inside the bearing and play an effective role in heat dissipation.
C: When grease lubrication is used, it can prevent foreign matters such as external dust from entering the interior of tapered roller bearing and play a sealing role.
D: Lubricants can prevent metal corrosion.
E: Lubricating grease containing special additives can repair and passivate the slight wear on the surface of raceway and rolling element during the working process of bearing, and has a significant effect on prolonging the fatigue life of tapered roller bearing.
