Four installation techniques of bearing

Although bearings are often encountered, many people do not know what the installation skills of bearings are. This is the way of bearing installation. Many videos may also be introduced at present. However, we should carry out different installation methods according to different bearings and different places where bearings are used.
Skill 1. Installation by copper rod and manual hammer
This is a simple method for installing small and medium-sized bearings. When the inner ring of the bearing is tight fit and the outer ring is loose fit, the copper rod is close to the end face of the bearing inner ring, and the copper rod is directly hit by a hammer. The bearing is installed slowly on the shaft through the force transmission of the copper rod.
When the inner ring of the bearing is large, the copper rod can be used to strike evenly around the end face of the bearing inner ring. It is not allowed to only knock one side or force too hard. It is necessary to strike symmetrically and gently tap to install it slowly to avoid the oblique cracking of the bearing.
Skill 2. Install with sleeve
The same principle is used to install the bearing with copper rod. It is to press the sleeve directly on the bearing end face (when the bearing is installed on the shaft, it presses the inner ring end face; When installed in the shell hole, press the outer ring end face), and the hammer striking force can be evenly distributed on the whole end face of the bearing ring installed, and can be used in combination with the press. The installation is time-saving and reliable. The sleeves used for installation shall be made of soft metal (copper or low carbon steel pipes are acceptable).
If the bearing is installed on the shaft, the inner diameter of the sleeve shall be slightly larger than 1-4mm of the journal, the outer diameter is slightly smaller than the diameter of the bearing inner ring edge, or the sleeve thickness shall prevail. The thickness shall be made to be 2 / 3-4 / 5 of the thickness of the bearing inner ring, and both ends of the sleeve shall be flat and vertical to the barrel. If the bearing is installed in the seat hole, the outer diameter of the sleeve shall be slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the bearing.
Skill 3. Press in method
The installation pressure shall be applied directly to the end face of the bearing ring with interference fit, otherwise, it will cause pressure damage on the bearing working surface, and cause the bearing to be damaged quickly.
Skill 4. Heating installation
For bearings with large interference or large size, in order to facilitate installation, the bearing can be installed with copper rod, sleeve and hammer after heating in the tank by using the principle of thermal expansion and contraction. The temperature is generally controlled below 100 ℃ when heating, and 80-90 ℃ is more suitable. When the temperature is too high, it is easy to form the roller track and rolling body annealing of bearing ring, which affects the hardness and wear resistance, and leads to the reduction of bearing life and early retirement.
