How to make bearings easy to use and durable?

The types, types and sizes of rolling bearings are various. In order to make the mechanical device to play the expected performance, it is very important to choose the most suitable bearing.

In order to select bearings, many reasons need to be analyzed. There are no special specifications for studying and evaluating the procedures for bearing selection from various angles, but the general sequence is as follows:

(1) Master the operating conditions of mechanical devices and bearings, etc

(2) Clarify the requirements for bearings

(3) Type of bearing selected

(4) Select the bearing configuration mode

(5) Selected bearing size

(6) Selected bearing specifications

(7) Installation method of selected bearing

The load size is usually the decisive factor to choose the bearing size. Roller bearing has larger bearing capacity than ball bearing with the same shape size. Generally, ball bearing is suitable for light or medium load and roller bearing is suitable for bearing heavy load.

The pure radial load of load mode can be selected deep groove ball bearing and cylindrical roller bearing. The thrust ball bearing and the thrust cylindrical roller bearing can be selected for the pure axial load. When there is radial load and axial load (combined load), angular contact ball bearing or tapered roller bearing is generally selected. If the radial load is large and the axial load is small, the deep groove ball bearing and the cylindrical roller bearing with the edge of the inner and outer rings can be selected. As if there are still large deformation of shaft or shell and installation of neutral difference, adjustable ball bearing and aligning roller bearing can be selected. If the axial load is large and the radial load is small, the thrust angle contact ball bearing can be selected. If the four point contact ball bearing also requires the performance of the center adjustment, the thrust adjusting roller bearing can be selected.

For most machines, the bearing with 0 tolerance is enough to meet the requirements of the host machine. However, if the rotation accuracy of the shaft is strictly required, such as the machine tool spindle, precision machinery and instruments, the deep groove ball bearing with higher tolerance level, angular contact ball bearing, tapered roller bearing, cylindrical roller bearing and thrust angular contact ball bearing shall be selected.
